How this blog came out…

June 2010

Ozge Karaoglu: Burcu, how come you don’t have a blog? You gotta have one.

Burcu: (indifferently) Why do I need a blog? I am OK.

Ozge: You have so much to offer. You are so knowledgeable, come on.

Burcu: Yeah, yeah, maybe one day.. (not really convinced or convincingly)

Ozge Karaoglu: Burcu, how about your blog? Have you thought about a title?

Burcu: (sheepishly) Oh, oh I’m sorry. I didn’t. I am busy. Was I supposed to?

Ozge: Come on, Burcu. We will get you a blog, I’ll help you. You gotta have one.

Burcu: (showing a tiny bit of interest) but what’s the use?

Ozge: Blogging gave me a chance to reflect on my profession regularly, I became more organised, I felt I reached a lot of people in ELT and helped them.

Burcu: (sounding more convinced) All right then, I will think of a name and a theme:)

Ozge: Great, I will help you with everything. We can do that during the semester break.

Burcu: OK, deal:)

And there it is. My blog is dedicated to my lovely friend Ozge Karaoglu, who is a great educator and an amazing motivator. Everyone needs a buddy like her.

Speaking of motivators, my next blog post will be about motivation.

Who am I?

who_am_iIf I were a colour, I would be Red because I am passionate, bold and definitely not wishy-washy:)).

If I were a song I would be ‘Volare’ sang by Dean Martin because it is romantic and joyous.

If I were a city, I would be Barcelona because I am a little bit olde-worlde and a little bit modern, a little bit arty and a little bit sporty, a little bit classy and a little bit messy.

If I were an object, I would be a PC because I like to connect people, and I am pretty helpful and resourceful.

If I were a season, I would be Summer because I am warm, friendly and open to new experiences.

If I were a maxim, I would be ‘It’s never too late.’ as I am a true believer that it is never ever too late.

What about you???
